With a beautiful warm weather weekend heading our way, i thought it was fitting to blog about a particular flower that has me dreaming of sunny afternoons all year round... yes, i am talking about the understated daisy.
I love them dearly. Whether it be in a simple posy or a dreamy bohemian chain, or even in the form of a more recent trend 'dehydrated', a bunch of daisies can remain elegant yet youthful all in the same breath. They are versatile and look great in both a country and or beach setting, and another great fact...they are considerably affordable compared to some other flowers that I adore.

Birdcages at weddings can seem so-yesterday, yet they are still a staple favourite. Despite the familiarity of the bird cage there are so many ways to use them; incorporating some to-die-for detail, and yet still producing an original and interesting look.

Ohhhh summer (insert sigh), how we love you! And Summer weddings. They conjure images of warm balmy nights, flowy dresses, loose hair styles, and of course, refreshing drinks! Warm weather provides the perfect opportunity to treat your guests to something out of the ordinary: beautiful punches, sangria, or even homemade lemonade – my mum’s is the best!
With this in mind we decided that our collection was missing a key piece for these very occasions!
Everybody, we would like to introduce you to our new friend “Bev”. She has ambitions of serving drinks all over town!
She is available to hire (along with our drink dispensers) - and is perfect not only for weddings, but also baby showers, kitchen teas, and more. She's happy to dress up however you want her too - and she's a real crowd pleaser!
While we're introducing Bev, we thought we would also share some other cute drink stations for inspiration.

So many weddings take place at wineries these days (and for good reason, they are just so pretty). Wine barrels are cheap and they compliment these venues well if used correctly. There is always a risk that they can look too "generic", bold and out of place.. but we've found some (below) that have been used perfectly!

It's the weekend, and we have some fab venues for you to ponder in the Clare Valley - a region close to our heart! Unlike the Barossa or the Adelaide Hills the Clare Valley is that little bit further away from Adelaide, yet this is what makes it so charming.
How cool is this? Not only would getting married in a maze be totally original, it would allow you to use your imagination and do something utterly different, like; a circular aisle in the centre of the Maze, or a treasure hunt for your guests to find the location of the ceremony – tucked away in a corner of the garden. There are endless nooks and crannies in the Maze to have the ceremony location. Total capacity would be somewhere around 80 people (for guest comfort), but there is no limit! The maze also provides a setting for some really great photo ops, if you choose to have the ceremony somewhere else. The other great news – Pod & Pea are the exclusive stylists for this venue!
This places looks like something right out of France. I think my favourite part of this venue is the tree lined drive way, it looks absolutely spectacular in autumn. This venue is hidden amongst the vines and is totally understated – which adds to its charm. The garden provides the perfect spot for an outdoor wedding in summer, yet has plenty of room to set up a marquee and enjoy during winter!
This one is a popular one amongst the locals. If they don’t get married here, they make the trip to have their photos taken here… and when you see this place you understand why!
I’m making the call that this place could potentially be the most well equipped rustic wedding venue in SA!! Big call I know but here are the reasons why: The ‘home’ it’s self is just magnificent (everything you would expect a 1840’s homestead to look like), the garden is well established, there is an on-site church (St Michael’s Church) complete with ornate gates and hand painted windows. The venue offer wedding packages for both church weddings and garden weddings. Receptions can then be held in the shearing shed, or you can set up a marquee on the beautiful lawns!!! And to coat it all in sweet wedding sugar – you and your guest can all stay at the venue in the historic accommodation!!!
This place would be unheard of to most! It is situated in the privacy of rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves. The venue plays host to a long history and had been restored to compliment this tastefully, there is also an onsite chapel built in 1862 which overlooks the tree covered Skilly Hills. Pictures of this venue are limited due to the lack of publicity; however, I can guarantee that it is well worth a look if you are planning a country wedding!
This week we are moving onto the BarossaValley! There is certainly no shortage of beautiful wedding venues in this region; in fact, there are so many venues often the most classic and rustic ones can be forgotten about. My list of beautiful venues was long this week so I had to be brutal when narrowing them down. I cut the ones I am sure you have seen time and time again and decided on the venues that aren’t featured as much! So here you have them – Barossa’s finest wedding venues!
Grant Burge
Equally beautiful in Spring as it is in Autumn, the courtyard at Grant Burge wines always looks enchanting on a wedding day! The old stone walls and vine covered roof make you feel as though you could be at a destination wedding in Europe! The courtyard is often used as the location for ceremonies; however, it has hosted some elegant receptions as well. Take a look at their facebook page to see more!

Seppeltsfield
Simply Stunning! This venue is so incredibility versatile! Firstly there are too many locations to have a beautiful ceremony I cannot list them all. Seppelsfield can cater for weddings with 10 guests to weddings with 500 guests. My favorite element to this venue is the gardens. They are never ending and I am sorry to have to say it again – so versatile! I would love to attend a picnic wedding on the lawns here. Many of the essentials that are needed are already there, like picnic tables, ample shade under beautiful old trees, BBQ facilities, bar facilities, and clean toilets! Or if the picnic style is too casual you can have a full sit down in the ball room, or use the beautiful lawns to host a reception under a marquee. My best friend had her wedding reception here and it was fantastic. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks under fairy light lit big pine trees followed by a sit down dinner in a marquee (I have posted some of her beautiful photos below). If your wedding is in summer and you are expecting great weather, ditch the marquee all together and enjoy the stars!
Ok, so this venue is my personal favorite! I want to invite all my friends there one day for a party to enjoy the atmosphere of this unique winery/cellar door. It is truly rustic and run by a bunch of fun-loving people. Personally, I believe an autumn wedding would work best here. A time where the surrounding vines would be all shades of reds and orange and the smell of the toasty wood oven pizza would fill the air.

Pindarie
Pindarie was originally a sheep and cropping farm that eventually planted some grapes and opened a cellar door to sell their produce. The venue is located on the Western Ridge of the Barossa with views that can not be described as anything less than spectacular. They currently do not cater for weddings, but do how ever allow you to use the venue for intimate dinner parties. A small dinner party here might just in fact be the small reception you are looking for after an intimate ceremony. Take a look at their website for more!
Not exactly rustic, but certainly an extraordinary venue! This homestead built in 1856 has a magnificent eyre about it. The extensive gardens have played host to some beautiful weddings over the years. Like previous venues there are plenty of options when it comes to setting up a wedding reception here - depending on the weather. Check them out on facebook for some photos of recent weddings.

So, there you have it. The Barossa - not only are there some great venues on offer – there is plenty to keep your guests occupied over the whole weekend!
